I do have a recommended supply list to get you going. You are not required to bring these for day 1, but many of you may have some of this already.
1. Paint box (fishing tackle boxes work well)
2. Some good starting oil colors-
– Cadmium Yellow
– Yellow Ochre
– Cadmium Red
– Transparent Red Oxide
– Alizarin Crimson
– Pthalo Blue
– Ultramarine Blue
– Prussian Blue
– Raw Umber
– Burnt Sienna
– Titanium White (large tube)
– Ivory or Mars Black
3. A few canvases or canvas panels, 11″ x 14″
4. Odorless mineral spirits (Gamsol recommended)
5. Small bottle of linseed oil
6. Palette knife (trowel type)
7. Artist’s Palette (any size or type, from wood to glass, but I can show how to make a good one for cheap)
8. Roll of 2-ply paper towels (or some microfiber cleaning cloths)
9. Brush cleaning tank, or a jar with good lid (spaghetti sauce jars can work well)
10. Pencil
11. Set of oil brushes (filbert style is good)
– Hog bristle brushes, sizes 2, 4, 6, and 8 (Two of each is good)
– A few sable or soft haired synthetic detail brushes (small, sizes 2, 4, 6)
